Every year, RainTech Roofing for a Reason puts up to 120 squares of new shingles toward Tulsa metro neighbors who have spent years pouring into this community. This is not a handout. It is a thank you, and it is limited on purpose.

A roof is one of the most expensive things a family will ever own. We don't give it away at random, and we don't give it as charity for its own sake. We give it to someone who has been quietly carrying a piece of this city, and who can't fix their own roof alone.

You give to your neighborhood

The mentoring, the caregiving, the showing up. A pattern of service other people can point to and vouch for.

You couldn't do this alone

A real barrier stands between you and a new roof. This gift removes a wall you couldn't climb by yourself.

RainTech Roofing for a Reason is our registered 501(c)(3), built with the GAF Community Contractor Program. Every project is built to the same standard we put on any home we work on.

Community heroes, in the plainest sense.

They don't need a title or a spotlight. The impact should be local to the Tulsa metro and ongoing: a way of living, not a single good deed.

What “for a reason” means.

A free roof is a serious gift, so we treat the reason behind it just as seriously. The program exists to honor the people who hold a neighborhood together, the ones who show up for others long before anyone thinks to thank them.

That's why it leads with contribution, not hardship: a pattern of giving that neighbors, coworkers and friends can point to and stand behind.

Why this isn't a handout.

A handout goes to whoever asks first. This doesn't. A roof through this program is earned by years of quiet service, and it's limited on purpose so each gift stays real and gets done right.

Need still matters, because the gift should remove a wall someone couldn't climb alone. But impact is what opens the door.

How we keep it fair.

Every nomination is read against the same scorecard by a small committee, not by one person. Finalists get a home and roof inspection so decisions rest on facts, not first impressions.

We'll only tell a recipient's story with their permission, and always centered on what they gave, never on what they lack. Dignity is part of the design.

How a roof gets awarded.

    Nominate a neighbor

    During an open window we announce here and on LinkedIn, put a name forward. It takes a few minutes, and they don't have to know you did it.

    Reviewed and inspected

    A small committee scores every nomination the same way. Finalists get a home and roof inspection to confirm the details.

  3. 03

    The roof goes on

    GAF donates the system and warranty, RainTech donates the labor, and each selected neighbor gets a roof built to last. We share the story only with permission.

Why we do this.

Since 2003, RainTech has spent a lot of time on Tulsa metro rooftops. That work gives us a rare view of the people who quietly keep their streets standing, and of the ones whose own homes are falling behind.

Roofing for a Reason is how we close that gap: up to 120 squares of shingles a year, going to neighbors who have earned it, built to the same standard we put on every home we touch.

Nominate a neighbor
How often is a roof awarded?
This is limited by design. The program covers up to 120 squares of shingles a year, awarded during announced windows, sometimes as one full roof, sometimes split across a few smaller projects, so each gift is real and done right rather than spread thin.
Do I need their permission to nominate them?
No. You can put a neighbor's name forward without them knowing. If they become a finalist, we will reach out to them directly to confirm the details and set up an inspection.
Who is not eligible?
RainTech employees, subcontractors, and their immediate families, along with RainTech Roofing for a Reason board members. One award per household, and past recipients are not eligible again.
Does the person I nominate have to share their story publicly?
No. We will always ask first, and we will only tell a story with clear permission. Publicity is never a condition of receiving the roof.
What does GAF cover, and what does RainTech cover?
Through the GAF Community Contractor Program, GAF donates the roofing system and a qualifying warranty. RainTech donates the labor and manages the project from inspection to final nail.
What if the roof needs a repair, not a full replacement?
That can still qualify. The program supports repair, rehab, or full replacement depending on what the home actually needs.
